Experience a powerful and moving journey through Earth’s story in Monstrous Gaia. This unique performance blends poetry, vocal artistry, and instrumental meditations to explore the profound and complicated relationship between our planet and humankind. The program features works by Hildegard, Beethoven, Haydn, Heggie, Crumb, and a world premiere by Harvard student composer Anika Christensen.
The Academy of Sacred Drama is pleased to present this program in association with St. James Concert Series as part of our effort to bring the stories of legends, saints, and biblical characters to Northern Westchester. Admission is pay as you would like, and we ask that you RSVP in advance.

Founded in 2022 by soprano Christina Kay and mezzo-soprano Kim Leeds, Filigree enriches modern historical performance by pushing the boundaries of improvised ornamentation, rhetorical drama, and creative programming to reshape the modern concert experience. Alongside enlivening music from past eras, Filigree blurs the lines of old music and new by commissioning contemporary works that embrace the creative ethos of past eras. By taking liberties with the written music on the page, every performance is a unique, exciting and joyful experience.
